Hotel Overview

Located in South Ari Atoll or Alifu to the natives, the Sun Island Resort & Spa is in one of the prime diving locations in the Maldives. You can experience the stunning coral reefs on the daily diving excursions; the hotel has its own diving school with the latest diving equipment and well trained diving instructors. If you aren't keen on diving but still wish to see the reefs, there is also the opportunity to take trips out in a glass bottom boat. Along with its great diving and boating facilities, the hotel also has great sporting facilities, such as the tennis court and beach volley ball.
For the times when you wish to relax there is the Spa which provides a great range of services, along with a beauty salon, lounge area, games centre and shops. There is also a business centre and gym.

The hotel lies approximately 60 kilometres from Male International Airport, but with sea plane transfers getting you to the hotel in 35 minutes, you'll be relaxing with a drink in hand in no time at all.

Sun Island Resort and Spa has a grand total of 426 rooms available, including 218 Superior Beach Bungalows and 72 gorgeous Water Bungalows. Every room is equipped with air conditioning, a balcony, satellite TV, hot and cold fresh water, phone, internet connection, mini-bar, safe and en suite.

##Eating and Drinking
Whilst stranded on this tropical island you will never go hungry, due to the large selection of restaurants and bars in the resort. There is the buffet style Maaniya Restaurant, Sun Star reef top restaurant serving a range of Thai delicacies and Southern Star restaurant and bar reserved for those staying in the luxurious water bungalows among other bars cafes and restaurants.

##Swimming Pools
There is a large swimming pool with swim-up bar, along with a smaller pool just for children. Not forgetting that the beach and sea are just steps away where you can enjoy the sun on the beach or try a variety of water sports, including diving with the diving school.
