Hotel Overview

This air-conditioned hotel comprises a total of 312 rooms, of which 121 are bungalows and 191 are rooms within three buildings. It is surrounded by wonderful gardens with flowers, hedgerows, and palm trees, and facilities on offer include a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, and lift access. Further amenities include a hairdresser, the \Aghios Dimitrios\ jeweller's, a boutique, a small supermarket, a TV lounge, conference facilities for up to 450 persons, and an orthodox church. In the main Alexander restaurant located directly adjacent to the lobby, guests are treated to special themed nights four times a week, for example an Italian \Trattoria\, a fish tavern, a Cretan evening, or a candlelit dinner. There are evening shows organized by the hotel entertainment team every day below the trees of the Dionysos tavern, and once a week there is a folklore evening with live music and dancing. Guests may also make use of the Artemis Cottage snack bar, while the Hermes bar beside the lobby is an excellent choice for those seeking a relaxing afternoon or evening. Room and laundry services are available (charges apply), and there is both bicycle hire (charges apply) and car hire on offer. Younger guests may participate in the kids' club activities with qualified hosts.

## Location
This hotel is located directly beside the long sandy beach in Gouves. From this wonderful location, all areas of interest can easily be reached by bus or taxi. The nearest bus stop can be found about 500 m away, it is 1 km to the marina, 7 km to Hernissos, 19 km to Heraklion, 55 km to Agios Nikolaos, 80 km to Rethymnon, and approximately 150 km to Chania. Heraklion's airport is some 17 km from the hotel building.

## Rooms
Some of the rooms are suitable for families and come with three or four beds, while 13 VIP double rooms offer sea views, with each two sharing a private swimming pool hydromassage. All rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, a fridge, centrally regulated air conditioning and central heating, a hire safe, and either a balcony or terrace.

## Sport
In the hotel grounds guests will find a large swimming pool with ample room for relaxation on sun loungers and parasols, and a children's pool directly beside it. It is possible to enjoy cocktails and refreshments under the stars at the Poseidon poolside bar. Also on offer are two tennis courts with floodlighting, beach volleyball, table tennis, billiards (charges apply in all cases), as well as water polo and aqua gymnastics. The fully equipped gym area offers underwater massage, a sauna, a massage table, and a heated pool. The hotel's entertainment team organized games, sketches, and shows six days a week. Guests will find a golf course in about 7 km (of the \Desert Golf\ type, the largest in Greece) as well as water parks, while it is some 10 km to a diving centre and 15 km to a riding centre (shuttle services available on request).

## Meals
Guests can select their breakfast, lunch and dinner from a buffet. It is also possible to book a half-board or a full-board stay.
