Located in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore's National heritage area,near Chinatown and the Central Business District, the hotel sits amongst pre-war (WWII) double storey shop houses.A deluxe French restaurant, reputed to be one the best in Singapore-L'Aigle d'or.The hotel occupies former shop houses built before the second world war in typical Chinese style design but immaculately restored to its former splendour. The surrounding is quaint and served by a busy narrow street lined with upmarket offices and pubs.As can be expected in a historical boutique hotel, the lobby is small but cosy with European style furnishing.Due to its location and pricing, it is an experience in itself to stay in one of these refurbished shop houses. Chinatown is about 10 minutes walk away and there is no shortage of night life from the pubs around.
