Soldeu Introduction

Soldeu is a ski resort in Andorra lying at an altitude of seventeen hundred metres. It is part of the Grandvalira ski area which offers almost two hundred kilometres of slopes and, together with its neighbour El Tarter, is one of the most popular resorts in Andorra. Soldeu is a modern, friendly and fairly lively resort with excellent skiing and snowboarding facilities. The slopes are ideal for novices and intermediate skiers but there are a limited number of demanding runs for advanced skiers. The facilities in Soldeu for snowboarding make it a popular choice. Over sixty lifts provide easy access to the slopes. The ski schools offer tuition for novices and intermediate skiers as well as children from the age of six. When To Go To Soldeu

Soldeu is not Andorra's most attractive resort as the older hotels and apartments were designed to be functional rather than to blend into the landscape. Soldeu lies at an altitude of eighteen hundred metres with its lifts reaching a height of twenty-six hundred metres. Over sixty lifts give easy access to the slopes. Soldeu and the Grandvalira area have almost two hundred kilometres of pistes, a quarter of which are suitable for beginners and a fifth for advanced skiers. This leaves over half of the pistes for intermediate skiers. Advanced skiers can enjoy off-piste skiing as well as several black runs. Soldeu is also a good centre for snowboarders with a well-equipped snow park with a half pipe.
Ski schools provide lessons for novices and intermediate skiers and for children from the age of six. There is also a crèche for children from three to five years.

Soldeu hotels and apartments range from four star luxury to cheap and cheerful where the tariff will not overstretch the budget. Its restaurants serve a wide choice of cuisine and cater for most tastes. Bars and discos offer lively evening entertainment, at reasonable prices.
