Playa De Esquinzo - The Place

Playa de Esquinzo lies on the beautiful south eastern coast of Fuerteventura. It is a purpose built up-market resort with a number of all-inclusive luxury hotels. It is a very relaxed resort with a large expanse of sandy beach washed by the clear blue Atlantic Ocean. The waters on the east side of the island are calmer than on the west, and there are many small coves and beaches with shallow safe waters. Water sports, including wind surfing are available. The clarity of the water makes it ideal for scuba diving. It must be remembered that the Atlantic has strong undercurrents and that even on the sheltered easterly side of the island great care must be taken of children and less confident swimmers. The resort hotels provide a range of recreational facilities with gyms and tennis courts. The eighteen hole golf course near Morro Jable has excellent facilities. Remember to take your handicap certificate with you as it is sometimes a course requirement.

In order to make the most of your Playa de Esquinzo holiday car hire is recommended. 4x4 vehicles are necessary for some of the unmade roads around the coast and to the charming inland villages. It is also possible to take catamaran cruises around the coast or to nearby Lanzarote. Children enjoy the Oasis Animal Park, a small zoo with camel rides.

Playa De Esquinzo Nightlife

Playa de Esquinzo nightlife is very low-key reflecting the family nature of the resort, with many of the hotels providing in-house entertainment. Restaurants provide pleasant venues where couples can relax over a meal in intimate surroundings.

Playa De Esquinzo Shopping

Playa De Esquinzo Eating

Playa de Esquinzo has a number of excellent restaurants offering a diverse cuisine. Fish features prominently on menus often accompanied with mojo a spicy pepper salsa. Local dishes include Pejines, tiny sundried fish, Puchero Canario, a hearty casserole and Papas Arrugadas a potato side dish. A good way to sample Spanish food is to order a plate of tapas which consists of a medley of bite-sized dishes. Tapas are also ideal for filling the sometimes long gap between lunch and dinner, which is served later in Spain than at home.
