Champoluc is traditional, unspoilt Italian village lying at an altitude of almost sixteen hundred metres. It is located in the Aosta Valley and is part of the Monterosa ski area. Champoluc ski holidays are ideal for those looking for sparsely populated slopes and a relaxed nightlife. The local slopes offer seventy kilometres of piste with the wider area providing a further one hundred and thirty kilometres. Although there is good off-piste skiing for experts, the slopes generally accommodate novice and intermediate skiers. A modern lift system gives quick and easy access to the slopes. There are ski schools for children as well as adults and crèche facilities are available. Champoluc has a good range off accommodation which caters for most budgets and its restaurants serve a diverse cuisine. Shopping is fairly limited. Champoluc nightlife is low key and is centred on restaurants, one or two bars and a night club. Champoluc ski holidays offer great intermediate skiing in stunning surroundings followed a relaxed après ski scene.

Lying beneath Italy’s highest mountain Monte Rosa, Champoluc, in the Aosta Valley is a very pretty village which has been sympathetically developed to accommodate winter visitors. Being part of the Monterosa ski area and being lift linked to Gressoney and Alaena Valsesia, Champoluc offers a good variety of slopes. It has to be said that these slopes mostly suit intermediate and novice skiers. There are demanding off piste runs for experts but in the interests of safety, these should only be taken with a mountain guide. The lowest lift reaches sixteen hundred metres and the highest reaches three thousand five hundred and fifty metres so skiing here is fairly snow sure. Champoluc is good for those who enjoy long open descents. These runs are also popular with snow boarders. Tuition is available for adults and children and there are childcare facilities. Since places are limited, it is advisable to book early.
Champoluc has a range of comfortable accommodation from four star luxury to self catering apartments and chalets thus accommodating most budgets. With almost thirty restaurants, its diverse cuisine caters for most tastes and pockets. Champoluc’s restaurants, bars and a nightclub provide a low key nightlife. The resort also benefits from a swimming pool, a sports centre and an ice rink.
