Armaceo De Pera Introduction

Armacao de Pera lies forty-seven kilometres west of Faro and has a transfer time of ninety minutes. Pera, the old town, was once a tiny village while the small harbour was Armacao de Pera. Tourism brought expansion to them both so that now they have merged and are one resort. An Armacao de Pera holiday offers sun, sea and sand in copious amounts by day followed by lively evenings.

Why go to Armaceo De Pera

Armacao de Pera is a picturesque resort spreading up the hill from the harbour. Its wonderful beach and sparkling waters draw many thousands of visitors every year. The wide provision of water sports, good restaurants and a lively nightlife all add to the attraction of an Armacao de Pera holiday.

Armacao de Pera appeals to families with young children who are drawn to the resort by its wonderful long and sandy beach. There are plenty of leisure activities to occupy almost any age group and the nightlife is so varied that it caters for all tastes.

When To Go To Armaceo De Pera

Armacao de Pera has hot dry summers and pleasant winters making it a year-round holiday destination. The summer is the most popular time with sun seekers and beach lovers flocking to its shores in their thousands.

Armaceo De Pera - The Place

Armacao de Pera is a pretty resort which rises up the hillside to the old town with its narrow cobbled streets. It is here in Pera that you will be provided with many opportunities for taking a break from souvenir hunting in the many pavement cafés and restaurants.

The beach of fine pale sand is said to be one of the longest in Portugal. Owing to its length and width there is no overcrowding. The beach, shelving gently into the crystal waters of the ocean, is safe for paddling children and weak swimmers. There is wide provision for water sports including surfing, water skiing, sailing and diving.

Explore the deserted coves and grottos beyond the Senhora da Rocha headland by taking one of the many boat trips that leave from the harbour.

A water park in the area provides entertainment for children.

The waterfront has numerous bars and cafés providing shade and refreshments by day and lively entertainment by night.

An Armacao holiday provides a relaxing beach holiday with guaranteed sunshine in pleasant surroundings and with evening entertainment.

Armaceo De Pera Nightlife

Nightlife in Armacao de Pera is fairly lively particularly on the waterfront with its many pubs, music bars and discos. Although there are restaurants along the sea front, most of them are situated in the old town and it is here that those wishing for a quiet romantic meal should go.

There are two shopping centres in Armacao de Pera providing visitors with holiday essentials including gifts and souvenirs. Here you can purchase brightly coloured pottery, leather goods, jewellery and embroidered linens as well as a range of other items. Eighteen kilometres to the east is Albufeira which offers a greater choice for shoppers. There is also a market on the first Monday of the month in nearby Portimao.
