Alikanas is a quiet resort next to Alikes on the north-eastern coast of Zante. Set among fragrant olive groves and orchards, Alikanas has a wonderfully soft, sandy beach washed by crystal clear waters and provides a variety of water sports. With a good range of accommodation, fine restaurants and some lively bars and pubs, Alikanas holidays appeal to a large number of people. The most popular time to visit Alikanas is in the summer, although the season extends from Easter to the end of October. The temperature range is from 20 rising to 30 degrees at the height of the season.

Alikanas shopping is limited to holiday essentials and the usual gifts and souvenirs. Popular purchases include leather goods, jewellery, ceramics and embroidered linens. Markets are a good place to find your holiday bargains and there are several around the island.
Numerous restaurants, tavernas and bars provide a diverse cuisine catering for all tastes, with international as well as traditional dishes being served. Traditional island food relies heavily on fish which simply cooked is quite delicious. Moussaka is another Greek favourite made from minced lamb and aubergines. Local wines are pleasant as well as inexpensive. Children are always made very welcome in restaurants and their taste preferences and portion sizes are usually accommodated.
