July Holidays are extremely popular with families, enjoying time together when taking their peak break in the summer school holidays. All destinations will be hot and busy to visit at this time of year. However, if you want to escape the stifling summer heat try a lakes and mountain holiday in Italy, Austria or Switzerland.

Along with Easter, Christmas and New Year, the start of the school holidays is the most popular time of year to go away, resulting in prices staying high and availability being very limited. If you need to go away at this time then we strongly recommend booking early.

All beach destinations are popular at this busy period, enjoying the blue skies and long hours of sunshine. These include the Spanish Mainland and Costa's, Balearics, Portugal, Greek Islands, Turkey, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Canaries and Tunisia.

Africa and Egypt are very hot at this time of year, so if you don't like it too hot its best to seek a cooler destination. The Caribbean, Mexico and America are still outside the hurricane season and are worth considering, to take advantage of the glorious tropical sun. If you prefer to take a cruise holiday in July the best itineraries are to the eastern or western med, around the Spanish mainland or Canary Islands.
