The hotel is located near Columbus Circle and is withing walking distance of Lincoln Center, Central Park and the Theatre District.The hotel's restaurant features an open kitchen with both counter seating and a stained glass frieze, reminiscent of a university dining hall. The floor, tables and benches are made of dark wood. The hotel's brightly-lit main bar has an illuminated glass floor vaguely reminiscent of the disco days. It is filled with brick masonry, dark wood, a 45ft carved oak desk with a huge hologram lit classical chandelier and a tangle of vines fronting a 30-ft high vine-fronted glass roof. Nearby, French doors lead to a wonderful terrace beckoning with plants, oversized furniture, tongue-in-cheek sculpture and a bar (in season). The hotel's decor is captivating with its colour-infused escalator.With its range of public places, its outdoor components and its attraction to New Yorkers, the hotel harks back to the historical concept of the grand hotel in the centre of a European town.
