Benidorm Introduction

Benidorm is the most popular resort on the Costa Blanca and arguably the most popular in Spain. Young people, particularly the eighteen to thirties, flock to Benidorm to savour its golden beaches, warm seas and legendary nightlife.

Why go to Benidorm

A Benidorm holiday caters for those who want to spend their days in the sun by the sea followed by endless party nights. The beaches are first class with fine sand, life guards and plenty of water sporting activities. There are a number of attractions in the area that appeal to both adults and children alike.

Benidorm attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, the majority being young and British. Families enjoy the excellent beaches and the various children’s attractions. Water sports enthusiasts will find plenty to occupy their days including cable water skiing. The heaving nightlife has a strong appeal for the young.

When To Go To Benidorm

The most popular time to holiday in Benidorm is from April to October when the temperature ranges from a very pleasant twenty five degrees rising to the early thirties in the height of summer.

Benidorm - The Place

Benidorm is a bustling resort full of life and high spirits. The old fishing village, hard to find as it hides among the high rise hotels, has narrow cobbled streets with small white houses clustered around the blue domed church. There are four miles of golden beaches including Poniente which is fairly quiet and Malpas, a small beach near the port. Care must still be taken when swimming as there are some strong under currents. Be sure to observe the life guards flags and only swim when the green flag is flying. There is a wide variety of water sports and opportunities for boat hire. The very exciting sport of cable water skiing is available at Rincon de Loix where speeds of sixty kilometres an hour can be reached. A submarine can be taken to Benidorm Island, a conservation area three kilometres out into the bay, where the clear waters enable the visitor to see the teeming marine life.

The Terra Mitica theme park, based on ancient civilisations, is a popular attraction with its thrilling rides. Aqualandia, the water park with daring slides, also attracts large numbers of visitors of all ages. At Rincon de Loix, Mundomar the marine and exotic animal park has dolphins, sea lions and penguins, as well as birds and other small creatures. With bars, restaurants and shops galore holiday makers will find all they need in Benidorm.

Benidorm Nightlife

Benidorm does not sleep at night. With its clubs, discos and karaoke bars all serving low cost drinks it is a magnet for fun lovers. If what you want are sun, sea and dusk to dawn entertainment then book a Benidorm holiday today and you will not be disappointed.

Benidorm Shopping

As in all coastal resorts in Spain there are many beach, gift and souvenir shops. There is an outdoor market on Wednesdays and Sundays in the town centre and a flea market in El Cisne every Sunday. Rincon de Loix also has a lively indoor market. Traditional local handicrafts such as wickerwork, ceramics and leather goods, as well as a wide assortment of souvenirs and trinkets are widely available.

Benidorm Eating

Benidorm has restaurants and cafes to cater for all tastes from fast food outlets to traditional fish restaurants and tapas bars international restaurants. There are many restaurants that satisfy the needs of the less adventurous British palate. Local wines are good value.

Been to Benidorm several times and really enjoyed all my holidays there. Theres loads to do whilst your there and you can have your holiday as lively or as quiet as you like. The beach is nice with plenty watersports. There is hundreds of bars and shops and resteraunts for you to enjoy. Its also quite cheap to eat and drink out so id just go self catering.

I have been to Benidorm several times. Usually go in Sept but would be better in July/Aug to guarantee weather. Usually stay in old town in Terralta, prefer not to stay in highrise apts as you get no sun around pool. Go to new town for nights out, as there is a lot more choice for bars and restaurants. I also like to watch comedy acts and tribute bands. There is a gorgeous indians in new town, cant remember what it is called. Lots of watersports to do, beach is nice. Lots of shops and supermarkets. Would recommend to couples and youngsters. Might be too lively on a night for people with young children.
