Budget Airlines Major Yorkshire Expansion

Jet2.com has announced it's biggest ever expansion from Leeds/Bradford airport, which should be ready in time for next summer.
The company will introduce eight new routes with package holiday destinations including Cyprus and Crete. Fares are reported to be as cheap as £48.99 one-way.
Other new destinations include Avignon, Hamburg, Jersey, La Rochelle, Madrid and Sardinia.
Starting from next May, the airline will attempt to meet it's target of flying 3.5 million passengers from Leeds/Bradford airport by 2010. This is one million more than the airport currently caters for.
These additional destinations will increase the airlines routes to 36, a 20% increase on capacity from the previous year.
The airline also announced that flights to Geneva and Lanzarote will continue to operate all year long and flights to Paris will increase to a twice daily service. Flights to Belfast and Toulouse will also increase to three times a day and two times a week respectively.
The chief executive of Jet2.com, Philip Meeson said: "Today's announcements are very exciting and form part of our strategic plan to significantly raise the profile of Leeds Bradford International Airport."

The airport's managing director Ed Anderson said: "The addition of eight new routes for next summer, many of which have never been served before by scheduled services from Leeds Bradford, gives business and leisure travellers a superb choice of destinations from their local airport."
