Local tip: Benidorm is so much more than a lively nightspot, you can relax on at least four miles of fabulous golden beaches, try water skiing on the blue Mediterranean Sea, walk for miles along the promenade taking in all of its Spanish beauty from its origins as a small fishing town. The historic center of the city shows its awesome side with its blue-domed 18th-century church surrounded by ancient and picturesque alleyways. For the more energetic the Canfali hills are well worth a climb, or nearby rocky coves are ripe for snorkelling or scuba diving.
