Tremezzo is situated on the western shore of Lake Como, opposite Bellagio. The towns position, mid lake, make it a popular base for exploring the area and it is also home to Lake Como's most popular tourist attraction – Villa Carlotta, the only historic villa on the Lake that the public can visit. It's a fine neo-classical building with outstanding gardens, famous for the rhododendrons and azaleas that bloom into a riot of colour every spring.
