Built in 1999, this Mexican-style hotel comprises 532 rooms spread over several 2-storey buildings and four villas that lie amidst the hotel's fabulous tropical gardens. Facilities within the complex include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, an Internet café, souvenir shops, a jeweller's store, an amphitheatre. Those seeking some pampering make pay a visit to the in-house health centre with a hairdresser's salon and there are 6 bars as well as a buffet restaurant and 4 air-conditioned specialties restaurants to take advantage of. The hotel sports club/ is open around the clock and nightclub from 11pm to 2am and there is a car park facilities available to those arriving by car. A kids' club caters for those aged between 4 and 12 years of age (entertainment and childcare from 9 am until 5 pm) and there is also a playground where children may let off steam. Room and laundry services round off the offerings.
## Location
This upmarket hotel is located beside the inviting local beach, less than 1 km from the Eastern National Park that is filled with wonderful tropical flora and fauna. The fishing village of Bayahibe where guests will discover many bars and restaurants typical of the Dominican Republic is approximately 7 km away. It is a short 30-minute drive to the artists' village of Altos de Chavón as is La Romana International Airport.
## Rooms
The comfortably furnished rooms are fully air conditioned and come fitted with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer. Facilities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a minibar/ fridge (stocked with complimentary soft drinks, beer and water), an iron and ironing board, coffee and tea making facilities and a hire safe. A queen- or king-sized bed as well as a balcony/ terrace feature in each as standard.
## Sport
The outdoor complex features a freshwater swimming pool with a children's pool, a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use and a pool/ snack bar. Aerobics is on offer within the hotel and there are also Latin American dance courses. Various sports may be tried out for which additional fees may apply including water ball, windsurfing, catamaran sailing and kayaking whilst PADI taster diving courses are on offer at the hotel pool and guests may participate in boat trips as well as deep-sea fishing excursions (local providers). It is possible to play tennis on one of the three sand courts (floodlighting available) as well as table tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, bocce, billiards, badminton or minigolf. Archery and horse riding are on offer and there is an in-house gym at guests' disposal. There is a daily entertainment programme for children as well as evening shows that take place in the Areito Amphitheatre.

The hotel features six excellent restaurants: Buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mexican cuisine open for dinner only, Dominican gourmet (Extra Charge) open for dinner only (reservation required and children under 7 years old are not allowed); Brazilean rodizio open for dinner only, Snack open daily for breakfast, lunch and midnight; Asian restaurant open for dinner only from (reservation required).
