Guernsey airport is the only airport on the island of Guernsey. It is located in the Forest, a parish in Guernsey. It was officially opened on the 05th May 1939, however regular air services only commenced in October 1946.
In 2004 a new terminal was built, which became operational on the 19th April. To make way for the new terminal, the old terminal had to be demolished in May 2004.The new terminal will handle about 1.25 million passengers per year.
In 2000, 884,284 passengers and 56,784 aircraft passed through the airport. 71% OF THE AIRCRAFT WERE COMMERCIAL AND 27% accounted for general aviation traffic.
Island Coach Way’s operates a frequent bus service from the terminal to island wide destinations. Taxis are available from the airport forecourt and pre booking is recommended. The public car park is open during airport hours and operates on a pay station system and has space for 275 cars. The first hour is free.
