Lo Pagan - The Place

Its beaches are backed by a long palm-lined promenade filled with bars and cafes offering daylong refreshments. The sand slopes very gently into the warm waters of the Mar Menor giving ideal conditions for children and less confident swimmers. The waters of the Mar Menor are several degrees warmer than the Mediterranean Sea. Although some hotels charge for mud baths, they are available free in the lagoon. Here you cover yourself with mud, letting it dry in the sun. Leave it on for a while then float in the warm sea water. Bathing in the salt water lagoons are a perfect way to end your treatment.

Lo Pagan has a wide range of accommodation from all-inclusive hotels to self-catering apartments. Its restaurants serve a diverse cuisine and cater for all tastes. Traditional fish restaurants sit alongside fast food outlets and restaurants serving international cuisine. Lo Pagan has plenty of tourist shops where you can find souvenirs and gifts. There is also an outdoor market each Thursday.

Lo Pagan offers a range of recreational pursuits both in and around the resort. There are golf courses in the area and many tennis courts.

Lo Pagan nightlife has something for everyone. There are lively bars and discos with a party atmosphere as well as many small restaurants where couples can enjoy an evening in intimate surroundings. In nearby La Manga there is a small casino where you can enjoy a holiday flutter.

Lo Pagan Shopping

Lo Pagan has a good number of shops supplying holiday provisions and essentials. There is also the usual array of gift and souvenir shops on the sea front and in the town itself. The shopping centre of Dos Mares sells a wide variety of goods. Thursday is market day and many other local markets can be found the small villages close to the town. Popular purchases include traditional baskets, pottery, leather goods, rugs and embroidered linens.

Lo Pagan Eating

As expected fish dishes abound in Lo Pagan with small fried fish and shellfish being firm favourites. A good way to sample Spanish food is to order a plate of tapas which consists of a medley of bite-sized dishes. Tapas are also ideal for filling the sometimes long gap between lunch and dinner, which is served later in Spain than at home. Spanish wines are pleasing to both the palate and the pocket.
