Kefalos Introduction

Kefalos is located on the south west of Kos, close to the Turkish coast. Forty-five kilometres from Kos Town, Kefalos is a purpose built resort sitting beneath the old town after which it is named. It lies in picturesque surroundings looking out at the small island of Castri in the bay, with a white beach of sand and shingle lapped by clear Aegean waters. Kefalos is a very popular resort on the south west coast of Kos which lies in the middle of the Dodecanese islands near to the Turkish coast. It claims to have one of the best beaches on the island with white sand and shingles shimmering in the sun and warm water offering safe bathing for children and less confident swimmers. Kefalos has a variety of restaurants, tavernas, bars and cafes serving a wide variety of cuisine, thus catering for all tastes. Traditional island food relies heavily on fish. Fresh from the sea and simply cooked it is both delicious and inexpensive. Local wines are pleasing to both the palate and the pocket. Children are made very welcome in restaurants and their tastes and portion sizes are usually accommodated.
