Figueretas Introduction

Figueretas is really a small suburb of Ibiza Town on the east coast of the island. It is an upmarket resort said by some to be the gay capital of Europe. Figueretas holidaymakers benefit from its close proximity to the capital. They can enjoy all the facilities that this chic resort has to offer by day and, if they so wish, join in the legendary nightlife of Ibiza Town from sundown to sunup.

Why go to Figueretas

Figueretas provides the holidaymaker with excellent facilities both on and off the beach. Being so close to Ibiza Town, a Figueretas holiday offers visitors the choice of lively evenings in the resort or the wild entertainment of the capital.

A Figueretas holiday has very broad appeal having something for everyone; sand, sun, sea and water sports; bars, cafés, and restaurants; craft stalls, shops and boutiques. Families, young people and couples of all ages will surely find the essential ingredients in Figueretas to make their holiday memorable. It is also a popular gay destination.

When To Go To Figueretas

The holiday season in Figueretas begins in late April and lasts until October with temperatures ranging from the twenties to the mid thirties.

Figueretas - The Place

Figueretas, within walking distance of Ibiza Town, is a vibrant resort with a good mix of locals and tourists giving it an authentic island flavour. The mile long sandy beach, gently shelving into the bay, is bordered by a palm lined promenade dotted with many bars and restaurants. The promenade also has a number of artists and caricaturists selling their pictures as well as local craft stalls. There are a variety of water sporting facilities available including water skiing and surfing. Pedalos can also be hired. Take a glass bottomed boat and discover the variety of life that lurks beneath the surface of the crystal waters of the bay. Many visitors to Figueretas take the opportunity to visit the wonderful beaches on the tiny island of Formentera. The historic fortified old Ibiza town with its narrow cobbled streets, watch towers and magnificent cathedral is only a twenty minutes walk away and should not be missed.

Figueretas Nightlife

Figueretas nightlife is lively with its many bars and restaurants. There are, however, no nightclubs so those who wish to party till dawn must take the short walk to Ibiza Town centre where the nightlife can only be described as frenetic.

Figueretas Shopping

Even though Figueretas is so close to Ibiza Town it has its own wide range of shops from booze to boutiques and from crystals to candy. The main street Avenida de Espana, has many designer shops. Gifts and souvenirs can be found at the craft stalls on the promenade. If Figueretas shopping is insufficient, walk to the centre of Ibiza Town where even the most acquisitive shopper will be satisfied.

Figueretas Eating

Figueretas has many excellent restaurants and bars providing menus to suit all tastes. The cuisine is truly international from Italian to Indonesian and from Chinese to Catalan. Listen to Spanish guitar music in the Tablao Flamenco Bar while eating traditional food. There are many Tapas bars perfect for filling the gap between lunch and dinner. Fish features widely in the island’s restaurants and the ‘catch of the day special’ rarely disappoints. Dining out is inexpensive with good food and pleasing wine. Children are warmly welcomed in all restaurants.
